Pickleball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. The games are played on a court with a paddle and plastic ball. Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers.

Pickleball will be held Thursday evenings starting January 8, 2015 from 7pm - 9 pm, at the Rockport Elementary School Gym.

The Rockport Youth  Basketball program is designed for kids grades 1-6 to learn the fundamentals of the sport while having fun! Your child will learn skills and drills and participate in games. The program runs on Saturdays during the winter. This season the program will run 1/10/15-2/14/15. If any parent is interested in helping out, please let us know.

Times:

Grades 1 & 2: 8:30am - 9:30 am

Grades 3 & 4: 9:30am - 10:30 am

Grades 5 & 6: 10:45 am - 12:00 pm

Please mail your registration to Rockport Recreation Department, Ste.1, Gloucester, MA 01930. Make your check payable to Town of Rockport.

Cardio Blast with Kickboxing PDF Print E-mail

NEW! This class is an intense 50 minute cardio workout appropriate for intermediate and advanced levels of fitness. Moves include high-intensity cardio, cardio intervals, plyometrics and kickboxing. Participants should wear comfortable fitness clothes and sneakers and should bring water and a towel to each class. Yoga mat optional. 

This class takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from February 3 through February 26, 6-7pm.

Drop in fee: $6

$40 for all 4 weeks

* An extra week has been added to the current Forever Fit Session. It now runs through March 13.

The Forever Fit program is for adults 55 and older. Exercise is one of the best things you can do for your health. It can help you take charge of your health and maintain the level of fitness necessary for an active, independent lifestyle. Our class keeps motivation alive while also providing a source of fun, stress relief and a place to meet friends. Below is the class structure:

Warm up ~ Strength training ~ Cardio Endurance ~ Cool down ~ Balance ~ Flexibility

The next session runs 3/16/15-4/24/15


Wear light clothing and comfortable sneakers that provide good support.
Bring a set of light weights (1-5 lbs), WATER, and a yoga mat.
Have Fun!

Classes run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. 8:30-9:30 AM. Sessions run for 6 weeks. 


Drop-in fee is just $4 per class! $50 for all 6 weeks.
